Clean Water - The Math is Wrong!

Okay… no math-art today. The picture is from Votre goutte d’eau, HT to Aaron Schiff.

It’s a site about clean drinking water. While I’m can’t speak French, my French housemate has translated most of it for me (understanding him was a totally different matter… ). It’s a petittion to get politicians to provide clean water supply to the world - preferably africa (hah! you could have summarized just as much from the picture above)

So, while the guys from Votre goutte d’eau have good intentions of providing clean water supply to africa, they also bungled up in their math. According to them, clean water takes 2000 times more lives than the titanic and 9/11 tragedies combined.

Now, can you see where it went wrong?
