Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell

Today’s math-art is a little bizzarely colored. It’s a Tinkerbell Attractor, which I found over at the Chaos at Maryland gallery.

The Tinkerbell Attractor, as all attractors are, is a dynamical system. The normal Tinkerbell Attractor is usually only the curve, but the guys at UMD made it so that the black colored sections show the basin of attraction and the rest of the colors denote the speed at which the points escape to infinity.

Wow. That was loaded. Don’t worry if you couldn’t understand it. Just sit back, enjoy the picture. It’s art. I chose it because of its bizzare color scheme. It’s not really pleasing to the eye, but yet it does provide some form of attraction. Lean back and enjoy such a picture!
