Lorenz Attractor - A 3D Render

Lorenz Attractor - A 3D Render

This is a 3D rendering of a Lorenz Attractor. I used a program called Chaoscope to render this Lorenz Attractor. Like the previous Rössler Attractor, the Lorenz Attractor is also a strange attractor. Normally, the Lorenz Attractor are rendered as concentric ripple-like lines, which aren’t too pretty, but when rendered solid (or rather, as plasma) its proof that the Lorenz Attractor can be art too - if anything, it’s abstract art!

I have a whole gallery of Lorenz Attractor and other various strange attractor 3D renderings, but I chose this amongst others in my original art-ish math renderings because I liked it best. It really reminds me of the wallpapers and screensavers of Macs. Maybe it’s the color, maybe it’s the shape.

This version is the small version. Here’s a wallpaper sized version of it (1280×960)
